A butterfly-like slot UWB antenna with WLAN band-notch characteristics for MIMO applications

An ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna with butterfly-like coupling slot for 4-element multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) applications is introduced in this letter. In the design of UWB unit, proposed adopted to improve impedance matching and achieves operating bandwidth 3-12GHz. At same time, a symmetrical T-shaped meandering strip etched on ground connecting patch through via produces notch at 5.1-5.37GHz, which suppresses signal interference WLAN band simultaneously. The results show that array consisting four orthogonal elements realized good isolation lower than -15dB without any additional decoupled structures. Also, 2×2 MIMO exhibited diversity performance terms envelop correction coefficient (ECC<0.015), gain (DG>9.92dB). reaches maximum value 6.8dBi. Simulated Measured are accordance. All reveals effectiveness system it can be suggested as suitable candidate applications.
